The primary feature of this design is the pneuflex torsional resilient principle made possible by the transmission of the power through sidewalls of the flexible rubber and cord actuating tube. These expand radially inwards when pressurized. This constricting tube forces friction shoes against cylindrical drums. More is the pressure more is the torque transmitted. The flexibility also permits minor shaft misalignments.
